FRIENDLY SOCIETIES

The regular meeting of the Hope of Dunedin Tout of Kcchabites was held on Monday evening iu ihc Choral Hall. Pro. RoscVear, delegate to tho dispensary, gave in bis report of the business brought before the Board and the appointment, of a now dispenser. Bro. Roscvear was thanked. for his report, which was received. P.C.R. Bro. W. H. Johnston being unable to be present through indisposition, it was resolved that the C.8., D. R., secretary, and P.C.R. Bro. Fleming be a deputation to visit the brother and present him with the certificate ordered by the tent. One candidate was proposed 1 for, membership. Tho weekly meeting of Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge, No. 2,1.0. G.T., was held in the Choral Half last night, Bro. D. C. Cameron in' tho chair. After tho usual routine of business tho following ollicers were duly elected for the next quarter : — C.T., Bro. G. W. Efaudeinau ; V.]’., Bro \V. 11. Davies (re elected) ; chaplain, Bro. G. M. Simpson; secretary, Sister Cameron (reelected) ; F.S., Bro. D. Kane; treauirer, Bro. W. Taylor; marshal, Bro, J. T. Kuil (all reelected) ; guard, Bro. D. Cameron; sentinel, Bro. Gillan ; A.S.J.T., Bro. It. Saudilauds. ■ The meeting of the Crystal Spring Juvenile Temple, No. 96, I 0.G.T., was held in the Choral Hall last Saturday evening, Bro. D. M.‘Loren, superintendent, in the chair. The following programme was gone through : —Sister E. Churchill, recitation; Sister C. Churchill, song; Sister G. Ma;hew, recitation; Crystal Spring Band, selection; Bro. A.' Parkindbii, recitation ; Bro. Kennard, song. . Bro. J. W. Jago, in a neat speech, presented Sister C. Churchill with a gold brooch, suitably inscribed, for her past service of fourteen years to the. temple; also Bro. J. W. Parkinson, IVD.IX, presented Sisters E. Churchill and G. Mayhew each with a Bible. Tea and cake were served by tho sisters of tho temple.
