EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE.
The annual meeting of the Dunedin branch of the Otago Educational Institute, held this morning, was attended by Mr "W. A. Paterson (chairman), Mas Anderson, Messrs"VV. J. Moore, J. Reid, J. RobertsoD, W. Davidson, E. j] Barrett, W. Grey, H. Fisher, J. A. M'Nickle, W. Eudey, D. A. M'Micoll, W. Don, A. Stewart, C. Mahoney, and J. A. Johnson (secretary). In the report it was mertiyned thai no replv had been received from the Eoard to the requc-st 10 po.si.pone decision with regard to tin; daspilication scheme. The membership of tho branch is 66, being an increase of 4 ou that o£ "last year, but the average attendance had droppul to 17. 'ihi.s excluded the attendance of 71 teachers at the special meeting. The balancesheet showed a credit of £1 7s 6d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted on the moti-n of Mr J. Reid, who said that the satisfactory position disclosed was highly creditable to Mr Johnson. Mr Johnson was unanimously elected to the post of president, and Mr Barrett accepted appointment to the secretaryship. It was resolved to recommend the Committee of Management of the Institute to organise a social meeting in connection with the annual meeting.
