A special meeting of the Christchurch Ghpri table Aidßoard was held on Thursday to ponsider a proposal that the Board should receive sums voted by local bodies for the purpose of finding work for the unemployed m order that the Government subsidy on this m6n«y- might be obtained, and after discussion- the matter was referred to the finance'Uemmittee to consider and report ac next meeting of the Board. The man v?ho is taking phosphorus for spring medicine is trying to make himself a match for anyone.
