At the ladies’ golf tourney at Christchurch yesterday the final round for the ladies’ championship of New Zealand (over 18 holes) for the Countess of Glasgow’s challenge cup, was played, and won by Mrs Wilder (Christchurch), beating Mrs Holland (Otago). It is expected that the Auckland Racing Club will reduce their stakes for the season by £6OO. A Wellington telegram states that yesterday Saracen was supported to win the New Zealand Cup for upwards of £I,OOO at an average of about 100 to 5. The Oamarn Coursing Club began their Champion Stake yesterday. Results;— First round: Rangiora beat Cockfighter, Matchbox beat Juanita, Unfortunate beat Strathmore, Norma beat My Jack, Zulu beat Sailor Jack, Fanny beat Gladstone Lad, Moderation beat Lord Zetland, The Imp beat Auld Toon, Wheel of Fortune beat Marco, Break o’ Day beat Cardigan.—Second round: Matchbox beat Rangiora, Unfortunate beat Norma, Zulu beat Fanny, The Imp beat Moderation, Wheel o’ Fortune beat Break o’ Day.—Third round: Unfortunate beat Matchbox, Zulu beat The Imp, Wheel o’ Fortune a bye. Seven trotting horses brought by the Monowai from San Fracoiacu are quarantined at Auckland.

A through passenger for Sydney by the Monowai is W. T. Macpherson, the champion amateur sprinter.
