The appeal against the reconstruction scheme of the English, Scottish, and Australia Bank was dismissed. At a meeting of the creditors of Goldsbrough, Mort, and Co., it was resolved that reconstruction is desirable if a satisfactory scheme can be presented. A committee of six was appointed to confer with the directors on the matter. Several of the speakers insisted that the debentures should be secured, and that the creditors should be represented on the Board. Mr Justice Williams has sanctioned the reconstruction scheme of the London Chartered Bank of Australia. (Received July 14,1893, at uoou.) At the wool sales to-day merinoes were slightly dearer.
