ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Alexander Thomson, a youth of fourteen, was drowned at Petane, near Napier, yesterday, lie was sent to throw something into the river, and must have leaned on a stump overhanging a deep pool, for the stamp was found displaced. The boy's body was recovered.
A lad nanr.ed George Goldsmith, aged fourteen, was gored to death by a bull on Mr Napier's farm, Wairairi Valley, Malvern district, yesterday, The inspector of police has reoeived intelligence that a man named James M'Donald met with a serious accident yesterday afternoon at Naseby. He was attempting to stop a rnnaway horse to whioh a trap was attached; but he was knooked down, and the horse and vehicle passed over his head and body. He was rendered unconscious, and on the recommendation of Dr Jeffery was removed to the Naseby Hoßpital. A child bitten by a katipo at Fetone, near Wellington, while lying in a perambulator, is in a critical condition. The beach at Fetone swarms with these spiders just now. A lad named Hazleton was thrown from bis horse at Waimate yesterday, and sustained concussion of the brain. He was brought into the Oamaru Hospital to-day,
