Remarkable Restoration of Sight.

A remarkable case of restoration of sight has (says the Toronto ' Globe') just occurred at East Orange, N. J.C. Ferdinand Schnitzpahn went to East Orange some time ago and purchased the Eaßt Orange Riding Academy. In 'August, 1690, he was with a party of forty driving through New York State. Mr Schnitzpahn was with some ladies in the last carriage in the party, and at Stamford, Delaware County, the carriage stopped at a milk farm, and Mr Schnitzpahn volunteered to get the women a glass of milk. In going into the barn be stumbled over a low step and struck his head against a beam. He was stunned for a moment, but soon recovered. On reaching his hotel that nigbt, Mr Schnitzpahn was taken violently ill, and scon lapsed into unconsciousness. He wa& taken home, where he lay for soma time in a precarious condition. On »- «ivery he was totally blind, and had ever since remained so, not being able to detect the slightest glimmer of light in either eye. He consulted various physicians, and tried all manner of remedies, including electrio applications, but all to no purpose. About two weeks ago Mr Schnitzpahn was ordered by his physician to take a rest, and he went to Morris town. The day after his arrival there he experienced a stinging sensation in the head and eye, and was nearly frantic with pain. The pain continued all nighi; beooming easier towards morning. Taen Mr Schnitzpahn detected for the first time in over a year a glimmer of light in his left eye, and at the same time the pain ceased* During the day the vision of the eye becacna stronger, and at its close the sight was perfectly restored. Mr Schnitzpahn oan Bee. perfectly with his left eye, although the right eye remains sightless. There is great interest felt to see if the sight of the right eye will be restored.
