LONDON, March 9. At the Chamber of Commerce Conference a resolution was passed urging that a reduction be made in the cable rates. A resolution was also passed urging the extension of the postal order system to the colonies. IPer Press Association.J LONDON, March 10. At the dinner in connection with the annual meeting of the Cbamber of Commerce, Sir M. Hicks-Beach urged that the colonies should be allowed free markets in Great Britain. Sir E. C. D. Braddon, Agent General for Tasmania, concurred in this Bentiment, and complained that at present England regarded Australia with coolneeß, when the only fault was the attempting too much to benefit tho inhabitants and promoto the prosperity of the country. He also said that England would refuse to grant preference to colonial products unless the colonies reciprccited concetsion. This statement was received with loud cheers.
