MEETING OF CREDITORS.

& meeting in the estate of Mark of owake, carpenter, was held this morning and attended by four creditors. The statement showed liabilities amounting to L 227 4s lid due to unsecured creditors, and a memo, attached to the statement spoke of a LIOO debt due to a client of Messrs Fitchett and Thornton in connection with a property at Mornington, which had not realised the amount of the mortgage, The only asset was furniture to the value of LlO, leaving a deficiency, apart from the LIOO above mentioned, of L 217 4s Hd. The principal creditors were M'Callum and Co., 1,16 2s 4d ; Findlay and Co„jL46 ; estate of Laverty (Hyde), L 1 0; N.Z. Implement Compajjy, 1*17; Thomson, Bridger, and Go., LB2, Examined by the Asiilgne*, debtor stated that moßt of his debts had been 'outstanding for years in connection with his farming at Hyde. He had hoped to be able to pull through, but Vfts prevented by the elders of a church at Owake keeping back money due to him. He bad a house Owake, in an unfinished condition,

built mostly of material obtained from hit creditors. It was on a section taken np by his wife, bat she was willing to give a mortgage over the house. It was resolved—" That the Assignee be requested to obtain from Mrs Morton an agreement to mortgage the home for LSO, in consideration of the amount expended on it by her husband."
