KING STREET CONGRAGATIONAL CHURCH.

About 150 persunu sat down to a teameeting held last evening in aonnectian with the Great King street Congregational Church. The after meeting was presided over by the Rev. A. H. Wallace, pastor of the church, and addresses were given by the Revs. Saunders, Forsaith,and Moore, and Mr J, W. Jago. The choir, under the conduotorship of Mr Searle, rendered a number of selections during the evening, and Mrs Miller and Mr Cray jcofttributed soles, while Mr G. Moore presided at the orgpn. From the annual report we learn that in October last Mr Wallace resigned tha pastorate of the ohurch, but at the request of a large number of rr embers and adherents he withdrew his resignation. It was hoped that the present year's work would be of saoh a Aiuoessful nature as to show that he had been wis? In doing so. Last year there were 107 members on tha ohurch roll. Daring the year four had been admitted, but, owing to removal* from Dnoedin, there had been a Jobs of twelve members, The senior and junior ladies' sewing societies had rendered very valuable aamtance to the church daring the year, and by their combined efforts the sum of L 24 hadalready been handed to the treasurer, while great things were expeoted nf Jtfae jubilee sale they proposed to hold this month. The Sunday eohool and other organisations in .connection with the ohnroh were in a prosperous ooadjtjop. The Rev. W, Safwbbs, in the course of his address, congratulated the ohurch upon the success of their efforts to retain Mr Wallaoe as their pastor. He also spoke in very high terms of the reports read by tha secretary and the treasurer. The Rev. T. S. Forsaith (of Parramatta, Ijf.y.W), in a very entertaining apeaoh, praised jtbe ladies for their work In conneoHop with the ehuroh, and gave a practical expression of his sympathy with their efforts to clear the debt of the chujroh by making a very handsome offer of monetary assistance. The Rev. E. Moorb (Sydney! though* tha ohurch in King street should be prpnd of having as superintendent of the Sunday school one who had passed through the school as a scholar. Mr J. W. Jago congratulated the churoh upon the progress made daring tha year, and expressed a hope that the Jubilee movement wonld succeed in olearing all the ohurohwi dl the Congregational order from debt, and thus Jeave them free to devote their time to'irne spiritpal work. After the customary yotas of thanks had been paaaed, the Cpajrmah prosofrsped the benediction.
