JUDGE EDWARDS,.

10 THB KDITOB.

Sir,—Your recent reference to this case will be approved of by the public, but you did not state that the costs to the colony already amount to L6OO, which has been paid to lawyers for the moßt part. Although Judge Edwards succeeded before the Court of Appeal, the Government have not paid his costs, though they have been careful to arrange for payment of their own lawyers', and the appeal to the Privy Council will cost the colony a still larger Bum. This is how a Liberal Government squander the public money whilst all are heavily taxed and the working classes are crying out. The Ministers have got large travelling allowances, and use public money in rewarding their supporters.—l am, etc., Disgusted Liberal. Dunedin, October 10.
