Mr C. Mahoney’s appointment at the Green Island School is that of first assistant. The * Palmerston Times’ gives particulars of the death in a railway train in Scotland of Mr James Robertson, manager of the Terrace farm, Shag Valley. Mr Robertson went Horile to purchase a draught entire for the coming season at Shag Valley, and had just reached Aberdeen, when the excitement of being on the point of meeting his wife and family (all grown up) after an absence of twelve years proved too much for him, and he succumbed to an attack of heart disease, A very large sum of money in bills, etc., was found upon him. The body was taken to Peterhead, where the family reside. Spain has ten universities, 380 professor?, and 16,200 students. Irate German (to stranger who hag just stepped on his toe) : “Mine fient, I know mine feet was meant to be Talked on, but dot privilege pelongs to me.”
