The amount of revenue collected at the Oattom-bouse on goods cleared to-day for on«umptlon was Ll,Oil 5s Id. The potato market in Canterbury remains in au unsatisfactory state. Sales have taken place at 10a to 15s per ton at emutry stations, which is the lowest price that has ruled for many years. MINING NOTES. The Secretory of the Smdhilla Company reports 4ox of gold for last week’s dredgiog. S-everal miners who came back recently from Coal Island bring exeel'ent account* of the prospects of the field. The steamer Invercargill lift Dunedin this afternoon, having on board several who hive determined to try their luck at the diggings.
