A man named Charles Wilson was found drowned in the Waikawa River on Wednesday last. At the inquest held on Saturday by Mr C. Brunton, of Fortrose, a verdict of "Found drowned" was brought in. Deceased was a Swede by birth. Alexander Brown, six years old, son of John Brown, of Dcnniston, was accidentally killed last evening. He was standing by the side of a big goods waggon with his hands on it, when, on its being pulled away to get filled he fell underneath the waggon, which went over him. Death was instantaneous.
