FIRE AT BLENHEIM.
BLENHEIM, November 5
A fire at Grove road this morning destroyed a grocery store belonging to Mr Craig. The shop was insured for Ll5O in the New Zealand Office. The stock was valued at LBOO, and was uninsured. LSO worth of stock was saved. The origin of the fire is unknown. Nobody was on the premises at the time. The owner some months ago was disgusted at what he considered inadequate compensation for damage sustained-by his premises from a neighborboring fire, and declared that he would not insure again. He was remonstrated with vainly by Win friends. Sympathy is felt for Mr Craig, who was held in general respect. »
