AUCKLAND, November 5,
The French warship Duquesne, the flagship on the Pacific station, sailed this morning for Valparaiso and France, her term of service on this station having expired. She reaches Cherbourg in February next, when she will be recommissioned for service elsewhere. Admiral Lefevore left by the Duquesne. BLENHEIM, November 5.
A sample of flax fibre, dressed by Hamilton’s patent process, has been just shown in town, The flax is completely denuded of gum, and the vegetable acids extracted*. It is by far the finest specimen of dressed fibre yet seen. .
