(Received October 81,1889, at Ip.m.) The ammonia cylinder at the Pyrmont Iceworks exploded last night. Chiefengineer Bourne had his head blown off, and three men were half suffocated by the escaping fumes. AQUATIC. SYDNEY, October 31. The sculling match between Stephenson, of New Zealand, and M‘Lean, of Richmond, for LIOO a side, took place yesterday. Stephenson led for the first mile, when M‘Lean (who was in splendid form) caught him, and won by four lengths. Time, 21min Msec. MASONIC. ADELAIDE, October 31. The Earl of Kintore was installed Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Masons by Lord Carrington.
