SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST A CONSTABLE.

It is further charged that he then attempted to take improper liberties with her. The inquiry (which, being of a departmental nature, ia being conducted with closed doors) began this morning at the North Dunedin police station, and will be resumed this evening. Mr Solomon appears for Mrs Ryder, and Mr Macdonald for the constable.
