The idea of forming a party of members of the Victorian Parliament" to charter a steamer to visit the cities of Now Zealand during the Exhibition has been abandoned owing to the division of opinion on the propriety of inviting ladies to take part in the excursion. The rifle championship of New South Wales was won by Private Kennedy. The Queensland Legislative Assembly has sat continuously for twenty-four hours stonewalling the one million loan for railway purposes.
