St. Kilda.—An ordinary meeting of the St. Kilda Borough Council last night was attended by the Mayor (Mr Stenhouse), Crs Gore, Skipworth, Mitchell, Allen, and Caddie.—A letter was received from the Duuedin City and Suburban Tramways Company applying to the Council for their consent to the company making a temporary redaction in the tram fare between Manse street and the Ocean Boach terminus to Id, leaving the company at liberty at any time to raise one through fare to 2d, and to divide the line into two sections of Id each ; one section to be Manse street and corner of Cargill road, and the other Cargill road to the Beach terminus. It was resolved to grant the request.—Mr J. Sperry wrote explaining that a voucher for the payment of L 92 Gs 7d, due to the Council under the Local Bodies' Finance and Powers Act, had been sent to the treasury.—Mr B. Williams called attention to the choked state of the drain in Given street. The inspector was instructed to attend to the matter. —It was resolved that a general rate of Is in the £ be struck for the year 1889 90.
