MEETING OF CREDITORS.
RE EDWARD DARRELL.
A first meeting of creditors in tho estate of Edward Darrell, book agent, convened for this afternoon, lapsed for want of a quorum. Mr Stamper represented the debtor.
The debtor's statement showed his liabilities to unsecured creditors to be Ll2O 18s 8d and his assets L 5, value of furniture in his house.
Tho principal creditors are :—D. RobinSDn, Tapanui, L 27 ;—Burrell, Tapanui, Lll 9s; W. Fulton, Lumsden, Ll4; J. B, Thomson, book agent, Dunedin, L 34. The debtor, examined on oath, stated that he had been two years in business. He had no capital nor property at this time, but was in debt. About half his liabilities hadbeen contracted since he went into business, Most of the creditors knew his position before he started in business. During the last two years he had not averaged 10a per week profit. He travelled in the country,
