The following are the Reefton battery returns for the week Progress, SOoz of amalgam from five and a-balf days, with 15 heads; Inkerman, 84oz amalgam from 50 tons; Globe, 1330z amalgam from 185 tons; Fiery Cro»s, 302:z amalgam from teventy-ono tons (including hoses). The Fair Maid Gold Mining Company, Westport, obtained 94ez of amalgam from tables for fifty-eight hours’ sluicing ending Wednesday last,

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received tbo following cablegram from their London office, dated 18th ir.st :-“Tallow: Market irregular. Good tallow has declined 31 per cwt since last report Frozen meat: 'ihe demand is poor. Canto* - bury mutton D worth 4A >, and Wellington 431 per lb. 'ew Zealand beef, hindquarters, are worth 4j;l, and forequarters 3Jd per lb. Itabhitskins: Best skins arc in demand, but inferior sorts have declined Id per lb since last rtport.”
