Cavkiusham.— The meeting of the Council held last night was attended by the Mayor, Crs Wilson, Boyes, Coverlid, Stevenson, Kirby, Bridgman, and Hancock. The Works and Baths Committee recommended that the Council take over the road-line in Waltham Rise township, provided the proprietors paid the Council LSO: this sum to be instead of metalling Norfolk (street, rebuilding the culvert, and other works required to be done on the road. They had instructed the inspector to spread twenty loads of rotten rock and cut the gorse on the Forbury road; to procure 100 ft of blue gum for repairs to kerbing, and 9ft of drain pipes for drain at Glen road. They recommended tho Council to compel the lessee of the baths to carry out the terms of his lease.—The Finance Committee reported that Lll4 18a 5d had been lodged in the bank since last meeting, and recommended that L 52 16s 4d for general accounts, L 6 5a 3d for water supply, and L 27 15a for separate rate be passed for payment. The Committee recommended the Council to assist the Fire Brigade in procuring new uniforms by granting them a subsidy of pound for pound spent by them for that purpose to the extent of LIS. Messrs Kenyon and Hosking forwarded LSO on behalf of the original proprietors of the township of Waltham Rise for works to be carried out on a road which they wished the Council to take over. The Mayor and Crs Bridgman and Wilson were appointed to affix the seal of the borough to the plan referred to.—Mr Edward L. Lees wrote asking the Council's patronage at a concert to bo held on tho 18th inst. in aid of the improvement of the borough recreation reserve. Application granted.—lt was resolved that the. clerk be instructed to remind the Harbor Board that the Council's letter re, nuisanco on the Board's land abutting on tho Anderson Bay road has not been answered.—On tho motion of Cr Coverlid, seconded by Cr Stevenson, it was resolved that Lll be expended on a boulder channel on the Cliffs road,
