J. Eales has been offered L 3.000 to land him in San Francisco. During the week Recluse has come in for a good deal of attention for the New Zealand Cup, and jumped from 100 to 6 to 100 to 15. The * Canterbury Times' says the present quotations in Christchurch are:—loo to 33 Tirailleur, 100 to 20 Dadu, 100 to 16 Merrie England, 100 to 15 Recluse and Sultan, 100 to 10 Occident and Jet d'Eau. Hearn, of Wellington, has placed LSO, tbe amount of his first deposit for his race with Stephenson, in the hands of Mr H. Blundell, stakeholder, and has signed articles. These will be forwarded to Stephenson at Sydney to-morrow.
