XO THE EDITOR,
I Sib*—Several parts of Dunedin are now engaged in rivalry for pre-eminence in bud smells. The notorious little borough of West Har--1 bor might well put in a claim for consideration. All along the foreshore the smell is often abominable ; while close to the station i a large cesspool is forming. Such small j matters as bad drains do not deserve mention. West Harbor is evidently to the fore in all good works.—l am, etc., West Haebob. Ravensbourne, October 11.
