OTAGO ANGLERS' ASSOCIATION.
At a meeting of the Committee of the Otago Anglers' Association, held on Friday evening, Mr P. F. Stoddart presiding, competitions were arranged as follows : Otago Anglers' Gold and Silver Medals.— Firßt competition in the Waipahi on Friday, November 8 ; Becond in Lee Stream on Dunedin Cup day. The results of this competition will be exhibited in the Fisheries Court. John Anderson Medal.—Lee Stream on December 20, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The fish taken at this competition to be forwarded to Mr John Anderson, of Denham Green, Edinburgh, the donor of the medal, who is also to be made a life member. Mr Wilkie's Rod and Mr Bremner's Wading Stockings.—To be competed for in the Waitati and Waikouaiti Streams on October 26, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Junior Championship (open to all members of the Association under twentyone yean of age) for Mr J. Brown's medal was fixed for November 23 and 30, between two and 6 o'clock in the afternoon in the Leith.
There is to be an Exhibition competition in the Owake River on December 5 and 6, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., for a gold medal (presented by the Association) and a silver medal (given by Mr C. Hall), and a further competition to be called "The Pomahaka River Competition," for which two prizes will be offered, and in which competitors will be allowed to whip the Pomahaka and tributaries, pxcept the Waipahi, on Friday, January 10, oetween 7 a.ro. and 4 p.m. The following shows the list of prizegivers :—P.
