THE BEER DUTY ACT.
OAMARU, October II
Thomas VV. Ward, a brewer, was to day fined LSO and costs (7s) by the Resident Magistrate, who also ordered the confiscation of all beer and plant found on the premises. The charge was one of failing to keep a correct record of the beer brewed. The case was brought by Thompson, Collector of Customs.
