WELLINGTON, October ll.'i

The Marine Department received a telegram that the Staffa had returned from the search to the Three Kings for tracss of the County of Carnarvon. She reports that a thorough search disclosed no sign of wreckage or of a crew on the islands. AUCKLAND, October 11.

The steamer Staffa returned to Mongonui this morning from Three Kings, where she went in search of traces of the missing ship County of Carnarvon. She reports having seen nothing of any wreckage nor any trace of shipwrecked sailors. The weather was fine, and the Stafifa got quite close to the islands and steamed all round them. The islands are very precipitous, and if any accident happened to a vessel there there would be little chance for either ship or crew.
