INVERCARGILL, October 8,
A labor and trades union is about to be formed. It is understood that one object of the movement is to guard against the truck system which is believed to prevail in certain quarters. It is reported that the Ellis line will run a steamer between Melbourne and New Zealand, connecting with our railway system at the Bluff.
AUCKLAND, October 8,
Shipping people here consider that it is quite probable that the survivors of the ship County of Carnarvon may be on the Three Kings, thirty miles from the mainland at the North Cape. That would he on the lino of route to Valparaiso. It is thought that the Government should send ths Hinomoa to make a complete search.
