One of the sensations of the British naval review was the presence of the newest White Star liner, the Teutonic, as a Royal Naval Reserve merchant cruiser, armed with twelve 4-iuch breechloaders. In celebration ot what is termed the fivehundredth anniversary of the introduction of artillery into Russia, Major-general Brandenburg has been commissioned to write a history of the Russian artillery since its creation. Dr Legtand Du Saule, a celebrated French physician, claims f hat 7 ! > per cent, of epileptic children in Paris hospitals are born of intemperate parents.
