To day being the jubilee of the eight hours movement a close holiday is being kept. A large procession will march through the principal streets of the city.

There has been great excitement in the share market owing to the advance in Round Hill silver shares from LlO to Ll5O, The inflation was caused by the attempt to “ rig a corner” in this stock, but the movement collapsed immediately. One broker connected with the “corner” has disappeared,
