SUGAR SALE.

There was a full attendance of the trade and brisk bidding at the rooms of E. O. Reynolds and Co. this morning, when a cargo of now season's Queensland sugars ex Hauroto, consisting of 4,690 bags consigned to Messrs Neill and Co,, Limited, was submitted to auction, and every bag of the consignment sold. The sugars were of good quality, and landed in first-class order. They were, however, heavier in appearance than Mauritius sugars of the same grade, and are not considered to be so regular. Prices were, accordingly, lower than would have been given for Mauritius lots. Finest grey crystals brought Ll9 2s 6d to Ll9 7s 0d ; fine to finest white crystals Ll9 7u 6d to L2O ss,

Messrs Arthur M'Donald and Co. are in receipt of the following cable, dated London, 20th inst. • • “ There was a very large attendance of buyers at the rabbitrkin auctions held to-day, and a good demand prevailed. Winter skins sold at about last sale’s rates, while summer and autumn descriptions recovered the recent decline, and sold at an advance of Id to 2d ner lb as compared with last sales.” Messrs Remshardt and Co, have received the following cablegram from their London agents, dated 20th inst. : —“There is no change in the price for the bulk of skins. Low season skins are in better demand and show an advance of about 1H per lb as compared with last sales.”

Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. have received tho following cablegram from their London house (Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Co ), dated 21st inst." Babbitskinn advanced 10 to 12i per cent. Think it will bo only temporary. It is owing to strike.”
