WELLINGTON, September 19,
A waiter at the Club Hotel, Lambton Quay, fell from the top storey this morning while cleaning a window, and received concussion of the brain, injury to the spine, and other injuries. He is not expected to live. PALMERSTON NORTH, September 19.
Leslie Ireland was drowned in the Manawatu River on Tuesday through the capsizing of a punt. Deceased was twenty four years of age, and is believed to be a native of Blenheim.
It is reported that two flaxmills on the Oroua River have been washed away by the floods,
CHRISTCHURCH, September 10.
An inquest was held yesterday at the lunatic asylum on the body of Joseph Blore, who was the first lunatic committed in tho province, and has been an inmate since 1857. He died on Tuesday of senile decay.
