The weekly meeting of the Land Board was held to-day; present—the Chief Commissioner, Messrs Dallas, Thomson, Clark, and Duncan.
Ranger Hughan reported valuing at L 162 the improvements made by W. Hewitt on section S, block r>, Dunback, and suggesting that' Sections fi, 7, and § bo offered as a spial! gracing run at pd per acre rental.— Qorerqment to be recommended to reoffer seption fj, block 5, at 20s per acre, with a Valuation of L 16 2; section 14, block 4, at 20s, with a valuation of L 59.
Ranger Hughan reported recommending the granting of S. Barber’s application to have part of bush reserve section 48, block 0, Clarendon, surveyed and opened for application.—To be surveyed in sections of about fifty acres each.
Anna Carr applied to lease section 21, block 11, Maungatua, until it is required by the Board.—Declined.
Mr D. Reid, for Mary Sloan, applied to occupy forest reserve sections 15 and 16, block 4, Tiger Hill, until required, on condition of destroying the rabbits.—The Chief Commissioner to arrange. Plans of road lines forwarded by the clerk to the Wyndham Road Board were approved. The licenses of Runs 417, 418, and 431 having been forfeited through non-payment of rent, it was resolved to reoffer them for twenty-one years at an upset rental of L 5 per acre.
Mr J. Lawson, for the Canton Quartz Reefing Company, applied to lease ten acres of Manuka Bush, Waipori. Referred to Ranger Hughan for report. Plans of a road at Gordon, forwarded by the clerk to the local Town Board, were approved. The Moeraki Ranger forwarded a statement of accounts of the Hundred for last year,—To be notified accordingly. A. M'Corkindale applied to complete the purchase of section 6, block 14, Tuapeka West.—Approved. L. A. Norman applied to transfer perpetual lease of section 5, block 6, Gimmerburn, to W. Johnston,—Deferred for further information.
G. Anderson applied to purchase half acre of land adjoining his property at Inch Clutha, so as to secure his water frontage. Declined', but also minuted that'the Board have no intention of . taking any action that will interfere with the frontage. _ A. Bathgate applied for a prospecting license over the mouth of the lower portion of Tokomairiro River.—Consideration deferred. ' .
_ J. A. Burnside applied for a prospecting liodnse at the foreshore at the mouth of the Clutha River.—Granted.
Mr R. B. Martin, for T. Dorward, applied for a grazing right over' the mining reserve at the north end of section 9, block 10, Kurow.—Referred to the Chief Conimissioner to arrange for applicant’s being allowed to occupy. - ,
