Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, subject to any necessary alterations as under:— Local mails botween Dunedin and Oamaru, also those for the Naseby line, will close at 7.15 a.m., and be forwarded by the 7.45 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, overland daily, at 10.30 a.m., at Chief Post Office. Late letters, guard's van, North ©xpresK train, at 11 a.m. The Post Office, Dunedin North, will bo cleared at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 17. For Lyttelton and Christchurcb.—Per Takapuna, at 2.20 p.m. Late letters, Cbicf Post Office, 2.30 p.m. Wednesday, Skptember 18, For Northern Poits.—Per Te Anau, at 1.50 p.m. Late lottors, guard's van, Port Chalmers train, at 2.33 p.m. Thursday, September 19. For Southland. Australian Colonic?, India, China, Japan, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc.—Per Wairarapa, at 3 p.m. Money ordorß (for Australian Colonies only), registered letters, and nowspapers, at 2 p.m. late letters, guard's van, Port Chalmers train, at 3.35 p.m. Friday, September 20. For Akaroa.—Per Grafton, at 445p m. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. Wednesday, September 18. The contract steamer Coptic will lcavo Wellington for Plymouth via Rio de Janeiro on I Thursday, September 19. For United kingdom a'nd Foreign,Cotfntriea via the United Kingdom, etc., at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 18th. Registered correspondence at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 17th. Money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 17th. Book packets and newspapers at 9 a m. on Wednesday, 18th. The above mail will close at the branch post office, Dunedin North, for money orders at 4 p.m., registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 17th; letters at 9.5(0 a.m., and newspapers at 5.30 a.m. on the 18th. At the South Dunedin office, for money orders at 4 p.m., and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 17th; and for lottera and newspapers at 5 a.m. on the 18th. At the Port Chalmers office, at 8 a.m. on the 18'h ; money orders at 4p. ni, and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 17th. Late letters, bearing an additional single rate of postage ((id) as a late fee can be posted in the" mail van attachod to the North train leaving Dunedin railway station at 11 a.m. on the 18th.
