A match of 1,500 up for the amateur championship of billiards was decided at the Westminster Aquarium on July 12, between Mr A. P. Gaskell (the holder of the cup) and Mr E. W. Alobone, Mr Gaskell proving successful by 222. Neither made big breaks.
