The Works Committee report inter alia that they have instructed the City Surveyor to act in respect to a number of defective footpaths in the City. The Water Supply Committee report having instructed the City Surveyor to act with reference to the application of the South Dnnepin Borough Council for free supply of water to scour there mains if there is an over-abundance of water at the reservoir; also to instruct’the caretaker of Boss’s Creek reservoir to keep down as much as possible the rabbits on the waterworks reserve. A renewed application from the ‘Otago Daily Times’ Company for refund of L 6 10s, charged for the privilege of having ah engine connected with the water main, has been declined. t ■> The Gas Committee recommend that they be empowered to call {or terideps'fjr thfe supply of cast-iron work to the worts for the remainder of this year and for the year 1890, also to purchase 1,500 arch firebricks, of colonial manufacture* at an estimated cost of L 35. The Reserves Committee report having approved of the plan for the 4ft iron fence for the Triatgle and of the tender accepted by the Reserves Conservation Society for the erection of the same, The City Surveyor has been instructed to furnish the necessary levels'for the erection of the fence.
