At the bicycle sports at Sydney on Saturday the amateur mile bicycle championship was won by Busst, of Victoria, in 3min 3^ec. Joe Morrison, the well-known _ trainer, died in Melbourne after an operation, rendered necessary by an old injury to the leg through an accident whilst riding Chester about twelve years ago. At the coursing meeting on the Levels Ejtate (Timaru) on Thursday, the Champion Stake, of Ll2 12s, second dog L 6 6s, was ' won by Mr Mahoney's Ringer, with Mr Munro's Emin Bey as runner-up. The Bracelet was not finished, Boomerang, Rotomahana, Marble Arch, and Lowland Mary being still left in. At a crowded meeting of the Napier Bowling Club on Thursday it was decided to take Bteps to form a North Island Bowling Association on similar lines to the New Zealand Bowling Association. D.J.C.
