The following letter relative to the changes in the directorate of the Bank of New Zealand appear in to-night's Star :—" Sir, the announcement in the ' Herald ' this morning of the changes in the directorate of theßank of NewZealandsofarasregardsMrJohnM'Lean and myself are so different to the actual facts that I cannot allow it to pass without remark. The reasons for our retirement are well known to both the directors and Mr Murray, and have simply reference to certain matters connected with the bank's affairs generally, which we shall be only too ready to explain to the shareholders at the first convenient opportunity.—l am, etc., George Buckley."
