This Company is to be formed for the purpose of acquiring an Alluvial Claim of three hundred (300) acres in extent, titrated on the Upper Waipori Flat. It is a well-known fact tint this Flat in th' 6 "early days" proved one of the richest-gcfld-flelds in Otago, and it is estimated that upwards of one million pounds' worth tf gold was obtained from it, but owing to the primitive methods of working employed a large quantity of gold has been left in the ground that was then turned over; and a large portion of the Flat has been l«ffc untouched, owing to the wet nature of the ground proving an insurmountable obstacle to the methods of working then employed, and even in the places worked the bottom was seldom prcperly cleaned up. The presence of water, however, is really a facility to working the ground by means of the Bucket Ladder Dredge, which has been so successfully applied elsewhere, and which can be applied even more efficiently in the present ca*e. The Vendors some time ago obtained a prospecting lease of twelve hundred (1,200) acres, and after spending a considerable sum of money in prospecting, took up, under their right of selection, the three hundred (300) acres now offer* d to. the publio as being the best ground on the Flat. Of this three hundred (300) acres about one-hilf are still unworked. It may be added that on tho higher portion* of the Flat, which are free from water, several claims are still at work, and giving good returns with hand labor only. Further particulars are given in Mr Hav's Report and tae Statements of Miners apperded thereto. The expenses of floating and rcgisteiing the Company are to be borne by the Company. The contract for sale of the above special claim and the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company may be inspected at tho office of the Company's solicitors. OOAi NOTIOEfi. | COALS.
