Count Hardegg, who has just died at Vienna, has bequeathed L 60,000 to the university of that city, on condition that the money shall be left to accumulate for a hundred years, when, according to his calculation, it will have increased to about about 18,000,000 florins. 6. R. Sims, the dramatist, pays income tax on L 20,000 a year.
