[Peb United Pbess Association.! NEW PLYMOUTH, August 26. The dwelling-house owned by Mr Flofry, at Waitara, was burnt down last night. Insurances : On dwelling, Ll5O in the New Zealand, and LSO on the furniture in the South British Office. CHRISTCHURCH, August 26. An epidemic of measles has set in among the residents of Christchurch and suburbs, the outbreak being confined more to adults than to children. Six officers of the Bank of New Zealand have caught the infection. BLENHEIM, August 26. The new fire engine, by Shandand Mason, has just been received and put in working order. It is the finest in the colony, its pumping power being 100 horse-power. Insurance rates are expected to fall, or insurers will cease to insure, as the now extinguishing power is immensely greater than any in the colony.
