Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, subject to any necessary alterations as under:— Local mails between Dunedin and Oamaru, also those for the Naseby line, will close at 7.15 a.m,, and be forwarded by the 7.45 a.m, train. For Northern Ports, overland daily, at 10.30 a.m., at Chief Post Office. Late letters guard’s van, North express train, at 11 a.m. The Post Office, Dunedin North, will bo cleared ot 10 a.m, Thursday, August 22. For Southland, Australian Colonies (via Hobart), India, China, Japan. Comment of Europe, United Kingdom, otc.—Per Manama, at o p.m. Money orders (for Australian Colonics only), registered letters, and newspapers, at 2 P.m. I ate letters, guard’s van, Port Chalmers tini'i, at 3.35 p.m. For Northern Poits.—Per Waihora, at 1.50 p.m. Late letters, guard’s van, Port Chalmers train, at 2.30 p.m. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. Wednesday, August 21. The contract steamer Arawa will leave Wellington for Plymouth via Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, August 22. Mails close here as under : For United Kingdom and Foreign Countries via tho United Kingdom, etc. j at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 2ht. Look rackets and newspapers at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, 21st, The above mail will dope at tho Branch Post Office, Dunedin North, for letters at 9.30 a.m. and newspapers at 530 a.m on tho 21st. At the South Dunedin Office, for letters and newspapers at 5 a.m. on the 21at. At the Port Chalmers Office, at 8 a.m. on the 21st. Lute letters, bearing an additional single rate of post ago (fid) as a late fee can be posted in the’ mail van attached to the North train leaving Dunedin railway station at 11 a.rn. on tho 21st.
