CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Committee of the Charitable Aid Hoard was held this afternoon ; present —Messrs Robin (in the chair), Snow, Morrison, Green, and Wills. The Education Department wrote that the manager of the Caveraham Industrial School had intimated that the Board were indebted to them for the maintenance of children to the amount of L1,200.—1t was resolved to pay L3OO and to write to Canterbury to see what they did in respect to retrospective payments to the Industrial School there. The Inspector-General wrote re the delay in determining the valuation lists of the several local bodies contributing to the Board, and stating that the North Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board had been advised that the allocations should bn made under the old valuation. Received.
The Vincent County wrote asking what the Board assumed to be the rateable value of property in that county, and setting forth that it was only L27B.—Received. It was decided to allow local bodies to pay their subscriptions monthly or quarterly ; and to print and circulate the Board’s balance-sheet.
Requisitions amounting to L 1,021 8s 6J, and accounts amounting to LI 7s 51 were passed for payment. HOSPITAL BOARD. The Hospital Committee then held a meeting, the same gentlemen being present. A requisition from the Dunedin Hospital for L 482 la 6d for July was passed for payment. _ . , i It was decided to print and circulate the Board’s balance-sheet, and also to allow local bodies to pay their subscriptions monthly or quarterly. Accounts amounting to LI 12s 4d were passed for payment.
