The monthly meeting of the Otago Beekeeperb' Association was held in Messr3 Royse, Smith, and Co.'s Offices, Rattray s'.reet, last eveniug; present—Mr S. Brent (in the chair), Messrs Brickell, Skey, D'Oyley, M'Cracken, Thomson, and the Secretary. The following resolutions were carried : " That a Bub-committee, consisting ot Messrs Brent, D'Oyley, and the secretary be appointed to draft the annual report." " That it be an instruction to the new Committee to revise the circulating lists, so that the circulation of journals should be confined more to districts than hitherto, and that sufficient journals be procured to give effect to the same."
The Secretary reported that ho had written to several members drawing their attention to the fact that they were detaining the journals longer than the allowed time for reading, and stating the Committee's intention to strike off the circulating lists any members proved to be so offending; that ho had sent a telegram to Mr A. 11. Ross, M.H.R., drawing his attention to the fact that tho promise made re postage of bee journals had not had effect given to it, also a letter to the Chief Postmaster at Dunedin asking him to try and expedite the matter ; and that Mr Ross had replied that owing to the crisis at Wellington the Postmaster - General had not had time to confer with Mr Gray (the UnderSecretary) re the matter, but that he had seen tho Postmaster General again on the matter, who had promised to give it his attention. Tho Chief Postmaster at Dunedin had also received a letter from Mr Gray to the same effect. Letters were also rend from Mr Gray, Kaitangata, complaining of not receiving papers, which tho secretary had answered that he had made such arrangements as would rectify tho difficulty. Mr S. E Brent and Mr Percy, of Seacliff, also wrote on tho same subject.
