RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Thursday, August 8. (Before Messrs F. Meenan and A. Nichol, J.P.e.) Judgment was given for plaintiff*, with costs, in the following undefended cases : C. F. Paterson v. T. Smith, claim LI 12a, for goods supplied; J. Edmonds v. 6. Lamb, claim L 8 13s, for goods supplied, Henry B. Wingfield v. E. Layton.—Claim, LI 17», on a judgment summonp. Mr Joel appeared for the plaintiff. There was no appearance of the defendant.—An order was accordingly made for the payment of the amount claimed, with costs, by the 15th inst., in default three days' imprisonment.
C. R. Vecht v. William Cochrane. Claim, L2 4s Od, for wages alleged to bo due. Mr Wilkinson appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr W. Macgregor for the defendant, for whom judgment was given. Franz Siedeberg v. H. Benjamin.—Claim, L2 14s, on a promissory note. Mr Mouat appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Milne for the defendant.—Judgment was given for the amount claimed, with costs.
