A GOOD YIELD.

[From Ohr Own Correspondent.]

ARROWTOWN, August 6,

Sew Hoy’s dredging claim at Big Beach, Shotover, gave 116oz 9dwt of retorted gold for the past twelve days’ work. There is great excitement here over the prospect of successfully dredging the Kawarau and Shotover Rivers, owing to the continued payable results of Sow Hoy’s dredge at Big Beach, Shotover. Splendid returns were obtained from the dredge last week, averaging about lOoz per day, with only three men per shift. The whole of the Kawarau River, from the month of the Shotover to the Roaring Meg, has been taken up ; also a large area up the Nevis River. The Hart River has also been marked off.

Mr L. 0. Beal, jun., was up here to-day to report, upon the Kawarau and Shotover claims, and many speculators are on the look-out to purchase into the most favorable claims. One of the largest and the most likely-looking is that of the Morven Ferry Dredging Compony at Kawarau.
