Mr Bkene reportß:—Wages: Blacksmiths, 25s and 30s; station cooks, 20s and 255; couples, L6sto L 7 5; ploughmen, 20s ond 17s 6d; laborers, IBs; storemen, 20s to 30s; milkers, 10s, 12s. and 15s: hotel cooks, 30* to 50s ; gardeners, 25s and 30a; grooms, 15s and 20s. ROSLYN TRAM COMPANY. The ninth general meeting of the shareholders of the above company will be held to-morrow evening. The report and balance-sheet for the year ended June 80 state that the profit and lops account shows a eredit balance of L 1,026 2s I'd, which the directors recommend should be appropriated as follows:—To deprecation of plant and lines, L 300; reduction of accident account (which will then be reduced to L 500) L 200; to paying dividend at the rate of 5 per cant., L 498105; balance carried forward, L 27 12s lid. In comparison with laßt yea» tho receipts on the cable line show a reduction of L2GI 3s 3d. The numbor of passengers carried on the cable line was: Up, 253,515; down, 29,811; total, 283,320. The average daily fares during the year have been Llolßs Bd, as against Lll 17s lait year. The retiring directors are Messrs Wales and Wilkie. Tho retiring directors and auditor (Mr T. Oallender) are eligible, and offer themsolvcs for re-election.
