Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunodin, subject to any necessaiy alterations as under:— Local mails between Dunedin and Oaraaru, also those for the Naseby line, will close at 7.15 a.m., and be forwarded by the 7.45 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, overland daily, at 10.80 a.m., at Chief Post Office. Late lettem. guard's van, North express train, at 11 a.m. The Post Office, Dunedin North, will be cleared at 10 a.m. Fbhmt, AufIUST 2. For Northern Ports. Per Ringarooma, at 2.5 C p.m. Late letters, C.P.0., 3 p.m For Akaroa.—Per Mahinapua, at 445p m. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. Tuesday. Auuust 6. The direct steamer Tongariio will leave Wellington for London via Rio r : o Janeiro on Thursday, August 8. Mails for the United Kingdom, etc., close at this office on Tuesday, August C, at 10 a.m. Parcels for the United Kingdom per Tongariro will close at this office on Monday, sth, at 5 p.m, Correspondence intended to be despatched by tho Tongariro must be specially addressed.
