A boy named John Edmonds, employed at the. South Dunedin Ropeworks, got his arm entangled in the machinery this afternoon, and before the belt could be thrown off the pulley his arm was torn off above the elbow. He was conveyed to the hospital, and attended to by Dr Barclay, and at latest inquiries was in a satisfactory state.
